Great traditions have to start somewhere and as we celebrate International Women’s Day it’s fitting to look back at how it all started for the Warringah Ratettes. They were coached by Rob ‘Noddy’ Sawtell and David Hawkins and not all at Rat Park were happy about the women lacing on the boots. The season featured far more losses than wins and even a road trip to Canberra that was remembered for a bus breakdown and a 93-0 loss. The Ratettes have come along way since then winning nine Jack Scott Cups the last being in 2017 – but there will always be the “originals” and we salute them today.

To all the mums, volunteers, pioneers, supporters and players – we see you👀, we thank you 👏 and we celebrate you 🎉
