It is with sadness we announce one of Wakehurst's founding and life members, Ralph Schubert, passed away recently.
Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences go to the Schubert family ~ Lillian, his wife of 65 years, their 4 children, 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Ralph was one of the founding members who provided their house as security for the loan to build our oval and clubhouse. His son Cam played for the club for many years. He was the President when the clubhouse was officially opened in 1965. Ralph and Lillian have been regular attendees at our AGMs, always keen to connect with the current cohort and keep up to date with our progress. He was held in great respect by everyone in the Belrose/Davidson area, and particularly by the local and state members of government.
He was a true gentleman and a dedicated family man, a great athlete and strong community man. “A fair dinkum Aussie”.
Ralph will be sadly missed by all.
