Waratahs star Mark Nawaqanitawase presented these young athletes from Wakehurst rugby with Man of Steel and Wonder Women T-shirts.

No matter how cold it was in the morning, how comfy it was in bed or how tired they were after school, these young footballers never once missed a training session or game this season.
For showing such dedication to the cause, more than 100 young rugby players received a very special award at Wakehurst Rugby Club at Belrose.
Young Patrick Campbell, 7, who plays in the under sevens division at the club, admitted there were times it was a little hard to get out of bed during the season.

“When we had 8.30am games we had to get up really early,’’ said the Allambie Heights youngster who received his shirt from Waratahs player Mark Nawaqanitawase.
“But I’m proud I did.
“It’s good fun throwing the ball and scoring tries.’’
Clubmate Julia O’Hare has been playing rugby at the club for two years and enjoys both her training and games.
“We played about 10 this year,’’ said the under 12 players who attends St Brigidine College at St Ives.
“I really like rugby. I’m proud to have been at every game.’’

She was awarded her Wonder Woman T-shirt by Nawaqanitawase who said he still remembers his presentation days and would have “worn the T-shirt to bed” if he had earned one as a youngster.
“It's a great idea,’’ he said.

The man behind the idea of adding the T-shirt to the clubs regular awards was Club President David Cleary who was keen to encourage resilience and participation at the club.
Young athletes were presented with Man of Steel and Wonder Women T-shirts at the club presentation.

To encourage the young players he created the Man of Steel and Wonder Woman T-shirts which were handed out to around 100 players from the under 7s to under 12s at the presentation day.
