EXTRA PLAYER POOL FOR STATE CHAMPS
Every year we have many players that try out for their local Zone or District Rep team and are not selected – which is normal. But there are also certain Districts and Zones that don’t have the available players to be able to even form a team and they are keen to offer these players that missed out elsewhere a chance to still attend the State Champs with another team.
So – If a player trials for their ‘Home’ District/Zone and are unsuccessful in gaining selection for their Rep team to attend State Champs – then this player is free to explore other options and seek out opportunities to still attend State Champs and Represent a smaller District/Zone that is struggling to fill their team.
IMPORTANT – YOU MUST TRIAL FOR YOUR HOME DISTRICT/ZONE FIRST – otherwise there will be no release to other Zones/Districts.
This process has gone on for many years and has successfully seen some players go onto this ‘2nd chance’ and make selections in higher Rep teams following a strong performance at State Champs.
Last year I ran an informal ‘match-making’ service to marry up interested kids with Districts / Zones seeking these players. To make it easier in 2022 I have created a ‘Player Pool Nomination Form’ where players are able to express their interest in joining another team and Districts / Zones can then canvas us at NSWJRU to introduce them to players that have nominated and meet their needs.

*Note – Nominations for this commence AFTER your Zone / District Rep Trials.
*Note – If your Zone/District is not running a team in your age group you are eligible to trial for another district.
***Note – Players that do not first trial for their HOME District are ineligible to play for any other District in same calendar year.
